Camp MontMilner

The Camp

Camp MontMilner is a privately-owned camp located in Sewanee, Tennessee, about 10 miles off of I-24, Exit 134.  A dorm, dining hall, three outdoor pavilions and a lake provide the perfect retreat location for youth groups needing a large, outdoor setting, combined with sleeping accommodations. The property offers an opportunity for recreation, training and camping while enjoying a beautiful landscape near the top of Monteagle Mountain.

The Facilities

The dormitory provides sleeping space for 50 people.  It is divided in half with a sitting room in the center to accommodate separate sleeping quarters.  Individual cots, bathrooms and showers are on each side   Campers will need to supply bed linens/sleeping bags and towels.  Electrical is available throughout the building.

The dining hall is a 4,200 square foot building with tables and folding chairs available for use.  A raised stage with projection screen at one end provides a center for activities.  A kitchen with full cooking facilities is located at the opposite end. Refrigerators, freezer, ice machine, stoves and an island are available for food prep and storage. A serving counter divides the kitchen from the dining hall.

The larger lighted, outdoor pavilion is 50’ x 100’ with a vaulted roof.  Electrical is available around the perimeter of the building.  Picnic tables are in place for dining or can be moved for activities.

Two smaller pavilions are suitable for various activities during the daylight hours.  No electrical access is available.

The Activities

An outdoor firepit is located between the dining hall and the lake.  Wood is available for use.

Fishing – just bring along gear to fish in the 14-acre lake from the bank or the pier.   Small boats or canoes are allowed on the lake, including electric trolling motors.  Boats with gasoline engines are not allowed on the lake.

A walking trail winds through 24-acres surrounding the lake.  A cross is the centerpiece of the meditation area at lakeside.

Basketball, volleyball, horseshoes and 4-square can be played in the pavilions.

The Cost

Overnight:  $6 per night, per camper which includes use of all facilities listed above with a $30.00 minimum.  

Day use only: $150 with no dorm access.
